Anyone else having this problem?

Last night i was in world and all the suddon my mini map went red and i froze and had to log out. Well. Now i cant log back in. It either stops me at login and says that they cannont detect my DNS. Or it says gives me the "Due to circumstances beyond our control" message. Somtimes it goes to initilizing world then i get the "You have been logged out by the region you were in" message. I knwo its not my internet cuz everywhere else is fine. If its me any solutions?

If this means everywhere else *within* SecondLife--that is to say, just one region is affected--then that sim needs to be restarted to get rid of your avatar's "ghost" there. (Alternatively, you can try to "de-haunt" yourself by getting somebody--like an alt account--to IM that ghost while you're really offline, or to send it L$1, but this rarely works and usually the sim needs to be restarted.)

If, as I suspect is more likely, "everywhere else" means sites other than SecondLife, then it almost certainly is your internet connection, most likely a router that's not releasing a stranded connection properly, in which case a good power-cycle to every bit of networking gear between your client machine and the ISP's wall jack is likely to fix things.

yesi meant everywhere else as in i can log in to websites messengers and everything... im connected to the internet. Maybe if i reset my router?

ok i can log in with another av but i cant tp to the region my main V is at? Im at midsomer isle?

I can't get in-world right now to check on that sim, but if it's up and running, then yeah, I'd sure try resetting the router to see if there's some hung connection or corrupted DNS cache or some such nonsense.

Of course, if the reason you can't TP there is that the sim itself is dead (or sick), then... well, to get the main AV back in-world, you'd select a different region to login. If that option isn't on the bottom of the login screen ("Start Location:", then Edit / Preferences / General tab / Show Start Location on Login Screen.

They've just flagged up that the world is offline for maintenance.

There. I feel better now!

I was in the estate view for island properties, making some changes to the label of the land. When I closed it the land lost all discription to me. When I tried to view on minimap or regular map I just got blank space, not even the island showed up. But it was just my viewer. I tp'd a friend to the island and she saw the parcel name and discription correctly and everything showed up in mapping. I relogged (took about five tries) and when I got back on it was good.
