Help: My head keeps following the mouse

I am a bit new, but I did get an AO at Vista with a nice assortment of walks and stands and I use it and have it running. But, my avies head still follows the mouse movement around the screen everywhere, it's horrid because it appears as though he cant make up his mind. IS there something I'm doing wrong and any way to resolve this? I thought using an AO would stop this nonsense.

By the way anyone recommend some better AOs for my male biker than the cheapies at Vista?

Much love,

Simo

It's up to the animations, if they leave the head free to move or not. Many find the free head movement to look more "natural", and you picked up a set for people who agree with that =) Oh well, for the next sets you look at, you'll know to check for that while you are on the pose stands trying them out!

Hi Simo and welcome to the Forums!

All animations have priorities; the higher the priority, the more of the default SL animations they will override (basically.) If your new animations have a lower priority than the head-mouse movement, they'll allow your head to follow the mouse. I actually like to see myself looking around :) but that's just one girl's opinion. I don't know which to recommend, but all good animation makers allow you to test the animations before you buy them. That's how you'll be able to tell which have high-enough priorities. I suppose that if you're in love with a specific pose, you might try contacting the creator and asking him/her if she can make you a custom version with a higher priority, but you should be prepared to pay for it.

As a work around, if you hold down Alt and click on something, that will be your focus. Your AV will look at that object and will stop following your mouse around.

The head movement stuff is only priority 1, so this isn't a priority issue. It's that those animations simply don't take control of those joints (SL animations get to be selective about that). Overly high animation priorities tend to break more things than they fix.

Thanks guys, I really feel the love here. I appreciate everyone who responded! Thank you!

I'll try the ALT thing until I find another AO.

If at any point you think that SL animations are starting to make sense, run away, quickly. But by then, it's probably already too late.
