I was out looking at land tonight, and I came across something I had not seen before. In the middle of a group of 16m2 (which were over priced, but no ads,) was a 16m2 plot that was not for sale. I checked it out of curiosity and it was owned by Gov Linden and it had a plant on it. On the planter was the following message: "Don't support advertisers or land dealers who destroy our mainland with spam lots like this." I found it interesting because there were no ads around it. Did the ad farmers get rid of their ads because of this? Are the Lindens putting these up elsewhere, because I have a couple plots on mainland with ad farms all around them with nothing like this. I guess I'm wondering if this is new or just very rare. Thanks in advance for your answers.

the land prolly converted to gov linden by default (if the previous owner either left or got banned)
as for the item, did you check to see who it was made by, it might not even be a linden who put it there (some gov linden plots are build with no return)

You also have to check larger plots to make sure there are no 16m plots hidden in the center of them. It seems to be a way for the ad cutters to extort large sums from unsuspecting buyers.

Thank you Rhaorth! The planter, in fact, was made by the lovely and talented Sarah Nerd. I didn't even think to check that. Thanks again. That makes sense.
