I'm looking at starting to consolidate poseballs with one of the multi-annimation managers above. I'm very ineterseted in comments people have regarding any of them (or ones I've missed) with regard to pro's and cons.
One thing I noticed it appeared that MAT could allow the same poses to be used in multiple locations. Not sure how it works, just saw it n the infocard.
All comments welcome.

I can vouch for the Multi Animation Tool. I've been using it for a long time and wouldn't consider anything else now. It allows you to setup multiple rooms with the same poses. Setup isn't difficult but is a bit time consuming if you have a quantity of poses/animations. Well worth it though.
It handles synced sets, timed sets etc very well and can be used all over your land. I've even got it setup so it moves up to about 700m without problems.
It also has good security features so you can set it so anyone can use or various other combinations including individuals only.
It can be commanded via voice or a HUD, the HUD actually allows for pictures to be added so you can see what animations you are choosing (helps if you have a few). This HUD can be given to others for their use as well.
I have used other items of a similar nature but they were so long ago I've forgotten what they were. I found the MAT and never looked back.

Feel the need for a disclaimer here. I am in no way associated with the creator of this product. It is impressive enough to deserve what's been said.

if you are in to diy, and can script, look up MLP for which the source is still available, it's where Xpose, and devPose started from

I'm pretty sure all of them can use the same animations in multiple rooms; I know for a fact MLP and XPose can. For a long time the major advantage of the MAT was the way it handles timed multiple animations such as Craig Altman's long masterpieces; XPose fixes that. And when I picked up my XPose it was free for personal use with a donation requested.
To be honest I haven't played with the XPose much since picking it up; I'm an intermediate scripter and an unrepentant tinkerer, so I've enjoyed playing with the open-source MLP. But especially for the price, it sure seems worth checking out if you're in the market for a full-featured animation tool.

Where do you find these? I've tried searching for all 3 of them, with absolutely no luck.

From: Lundon Little Where do you find these? I've tried searching for all 3 of them, with absolutely no luck. MAT is available at Bits And Bobs main store, in one of the rooms with the couples poses. XPose can be found in Miffy Fluffy's picks last I checked. devPose - no clue, sorry MLP (also made by Miffy Fluffy) is officially discontinued, to be replaced by XPose. But it was open-source with full perms, so I'm sure someone would give you a copy if you asked.

I'd like to know where the devpose engine can be bought as well, if anyone knows.

mlp's code is buried in scripting libray... search multi-love-poser (I think)

FWIW, I played briefly with XPose and found it astonishingly complex, compared to MLP.
But I do think we're talking about two different animals here: the MAT (as I understand it) is intended to do something rather different from the XPose, MLP, and devPose (and, for that matter SexGen(TM)) cluster. MAT kind of multiplies the ability to use an animation in multiple places (including temporary poseballs, rezzed on-command), whereas the others are more intended to multiply the number of animations available to be used on a single set of poseballs (also rezzed on command). Given the way MLP, at least, is scripted, I wouldn't see an obvious way to have it controlling more than its two poseballs; XPose and the others extend the number of poseballs that can be in the set, but AFAIK, they're still controlled as a single set, from a single menu--so one couldn't use one MLP for two simultaneously-occupied and independently-controlled pieces of furniture, for example.
I've actually scripted (for my own use and that of a few friends--I'm not selling it yet, anyway) something rather like what I understand MAT to be. One note about using something like that: you will end up with a single prim containing *lots* of animations; that will become the single most valuable prim in the sim, so you'll want to keep it Locked from any accidental deletion.
One other note: There's a certain vendor of private parts that sells scripts to embed in poseballs. Those just won't work with items like this because poseballs are ephemeral things now. (I don't know much about the product--can't use it because of this no-copy licensing model--so it may well suck for other reasons, too.) For that sort of thing, the open-protocol Sensations approach works better in this application.

Devpos is 400L, lookup Riann Matlese...however she hasn't been that active lately. It works
XPose may be more functional...but Miffy Buffy has also been hard to reach. 500L for 3 or more uses.
A synchonization script can be added to handle Craig Altman's Bits and Bobs dancing animations (which are the best by a big margin).

Both MLP and XPOSE are still in Miffy Fluffy's picks, each at their own location. You may want to get MLP from there, to be sure to get the most recent version.

I use the MAT and love it, but would actually advise against purchasing it. Why? Sometime in March, I lost a set due to a mistimed Take attempt with some asset server problems. Tried to get in touch with the creator for a replacement, and no response whatsoever. A friend who'd bought an extra gave me a replacement set, and been using that, but I still feel burned.

If you want MLP it's best to get the latest version of MLPV2 (version 2,3) from Lear Cale on xstreetsl for $1 https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=692115I think the one from Miffy Fluffy would only be MLP v1 because MLP v2 was developed by Lear Cale

How to sync Lovescene in XPOSE?
11-21-2009 05:37
I have made my own dance mat using XPOSE but I can't work out how to add Lovescene correctly. It has a series of 8 animations but it should only loop the least three. From: Milton Wisent A synchonization script can be added to handle Craig Altman's Bits and Bobs dancing animations (which are the best by a big margin). Does anybody know where I can get a synchronisation script for adding Bits and Bobs slow dances and also Lovescene etc, please? Or do you use one that comes with the original B & B poseballs? And how do you tell XPOSE to use that script? I guess you do more than just drop a script into the prim's contents. There's nothing in the XPOSE help docs about it.

Wow, déjà vu!
As long as this thread is back, a recent open source development along these lines worth checking out is nPose, by one of the creators of OpenCollar. It does away with the rezzed poseballs altogether, among other advances. (It's still more "beta" than MLPv2, however, so may not have every conceivable feature or may still have some bugs--although it's already pretty darn good, IMHO.)
I have a little freebie (very Adult) crate that demos the nPose stuff, in my shop somewhere in Laffoon (coordinates should be in my Picks... I hope).
Oh, also: syncing multi-party, multiple animation sequences can be pretty tricky, especially if one wants to be somewhat robust to sim lag without causing more of it with the script itself. I very much doubt there's any way to use an animator's poseball sync scripts in any multi-pose scripted object. (Sorry, I don't know the XPOSE stuff at all, so can't suggest a solution for that; I've got it mostly working in my own anim server scripts--and it was a tremendous pain in the butt.)
