Hey Everyone
I am planning a party for friends at my place in about a weeks time. Everything is ready now except the invites.
What ways are there for sending them out? I can use a notecard which includes the landmark but formatting is really limited so won't look very nice. There is also very little space to type much on a landmark either. I had also thought about creating offline and then uploading the texture and placing on a flat prim but they would need to rezz it to read.
There are places in world that can do it for me but understandably, they are not cheap!
If anyone knows of other means that I have not thought about here, it would be really appreciated.
Thanks! ☺☺☺

How about sending them the texture in case they can't rezz a prim?
A prim would be preferable of course. It could give its contents - LM, Invitation notecard, party items.... So how about sending both a prim and the texture?

Take the hint - LL doesn't want us to use SL for communication and things any more, they've given up. Instead, do like they do - TwitFace it, so just like in RL you have 6,000-odd total strangers turn up. (It could happen, lol)

Works great if you attach it to a HUD point like you see with in world books. You could also add a script with the one line llMapDestination() when touched.

You could also make a web page for the announcement and include a slurl to the location. Then, you would only need to send the invitees a link and that could be done with a simple IM.

Isn't the MapDestination one of the options that can now be turned off in Emerald to keep people in the same sim from being able to easily TP directly to you? That feature could end up causing some issues for other uses that people do not initially think of. I initially checked the Disallow llMapDestination option and then unchecked it later after realizing many other things the MapDestination is used for. Because of that however, I think I would avoid sending things to people that need that option enabled. .
