I thought that when you changed teleport routing from anywhere to a fixed landing point that all previous landmarks re-routed to the landing point too. However I'm finding that landmarks still teleport you to anywhere on the parcel, is this right?

I know that I had a store in a mall once where they changed teleport routing to a fixed point and my landmarks for my store took me to that fixed point.

Usually owners still land anywhere the original landmarks put them. Visitors will be rerouted though. Ah, the allmighty landowner powers! ;)

I think SL glitched a bit, I had the same problem, a few people landed in my old spot. Then after a while, they started landing in the new spot again. Strange.

I'm not a designer IRL, but I RP one on SL!

Ah like the mighty banline powers that mean estate owners never see them!

Thanks, I'll try it with my alt of no powers, I thought I was going mad!

Yes, TP routing does not affect the parcel owner.

Interestingly, if you deed a parcel to a group, it seems to remember that you were the old owner, and you retain your immunity to routing there. Either that, or perhaps the group's "Owner" role is immune to routing.

I don't know if this still happens, but certainly in the past a group mmember coud set Home on a group-owned parcel.
After they left the group, that location as still their Home until they themselves changed it.

The data structures in SL constantly amaze me.
For instance, the reason given on that Staus page for the delaying of the rolling restarts:

As many of you already know, for each avatar in Second Life, we store what are called “baked” textures, representing what the avatar looks like when it is wearing it’s current outfit. These are stored on the simulator host where the avatar’s appearance was last edited.
We found simulators were getting “stuck” downloading baked textures from the *old* IP address of the simulators that were renumbered. As those IP addresses no longer existed, it was taking three minutes for these downloads to time out causing gray avatars and objects, delays in rezzing objects, a larger number of failed teleport attempts than usual, and other issues related to the simulator’s or viewer’s downloading of assets."

Stored on the simulator where the avvies appearance was last edited???? FFS!
Which then borked the queues for everything else!
