Did it die? Did the new viewer kill it?
All I get now is an error on trying to start it - says its encountered a problem and must close. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, rebooted - nada, dead, kapoot....
Anyone else?
ETA: Windoz Integration Toolkit Suite thingie hung up in updating and temporarily broke SL Image Upload - once that was corrected - it started working again. THANK YOU!

Why are you still using that, Nectere?. The SL client has been able to upload lossless textures for quite a while now. Hasn't it?
Maybe you know something I don't! Spill it!

Actually it is supposed to upload lossless textures, (both the main/RC viewer) but I find my sculpts are still borked to hell with it - the work around I have been using is to upload my sculpts with the SL Image Uploader after I have fiddled with it in PS (also changing the size etc) which results in a clean sculpt every time - no bumps no lumps, no odd points where there isnt supposed to be any etc.
We are using different sculpt methods however so this could be the primary reason. I have yet to get beyond staring at a sphere, for hours until I give up, in traditional 3d programs so I continue to use programs like sloft and the many free off world tools created by residents. Also, my sculpts are not of the organic nature, they have corners and vertices's that need to be represented as they are not a somewhat sorta close approximation which is fine and dandy for organic objects.
As of now tho it looks like that avenue is now cut off for me...I can not seem to run the RC viewer anymore either without crashing so I have no idea if it works there. I am stuck with the released version and the last few sculpts I uploaded are pretty bad, however they look as intended in sculpt previewers - I can only surmise this is a lossless issue that is still not quite fixed in the main viewer.

From: Nectere Niven Did it die? Did the new viewer kill it? If it's not working, it would be the new server code that killed it, not the new viewer. It works independently from the viewer, right? Just uploads textures to the server. So there's no way the viewer could affect it. For what it's worth, the new server code also broke importprimscript. http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2142 The sculpty gods are not smiling upon us in the 1.20 server.

yes you are right I believe - I saw on openmetaverse libsl trunk something may or may not have been fixed 3 days ago, however I can not find any compiled updates to it. The tag is 'Fix login by switching to async method'. I have no idea if thats the issue I have or not. When I attempt to start SL Image Upload it just says: "SLImageUpload has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
bummer.

really? Probably. But then again, Resident Answers isn't really viewed by content creators. It's the place for newbies to learn why their new hair looks like a box and for jaded assholes like me to make fun of them.

its kinda hilarious that I cant get anyone to actually answer the question I have searched high and low and it seems I might just be the only one in this entire universe that uses it, OR, it works for everyone else and yall just havent figured out a gentle way to say that its just me and that I suck... I hear the box look is making a huge comeback soon, its so retro, the new black and all that!

really? No, I use it. I have found it does make an appreciable difference in the quality of lossless sculpts. I haven't tried the latest 1.20 RC yet, i hope they eventually fix the lossless sculpt issues. :\ However, I haven't tried it lately, so not sure if it's working for me or not.
