Subscribe O Matic Question

Hi all, I just have a quick (seemingly simple) question for ya'll regarding Subscribe O Matics. So today, I was quite upset to find out that I missed an important IM from one of my subscribe groups.. Before I go any further.. Yes, I am subscribed for sure. Anywho, I was wondering this: If you subscribe to the RSS feed out of world, do you no longer receive IMs from the group in world? I subscribe to many RSS feeds although I never see the messages in game, and it just dawned on me after todays incident that this may be the reason. Could anyone answer this for me? I really don't want to go changing things around and experimenting only to miss more notices. Thank you all in advance, Sienna.

I'm "subscribed" to several stores that have a subscribe-o-matic and I regularly don't receive announcements to the point where I just subscribed my alt as well to at least have a higher chance of catching them but even between the two I still miss some.

I get offline IMs telling me there was a message, but I never actually get to see them unless they arrive when I'm online. Oh well.

I was online at the time of my message arriving, but I just didn't get it. I don't get the offline messages either, just my regular group IMs and such. *Sigh* I looked around some more but to no avail, I'm emailing them atm so hopefully they can straighten this out. Apparantly a good amount of people would like to know the answer to this so I will post when I found out whats up.

Sienna, are you saying there is a way to subscribe to RSS feeds for the various Subscribe-O-Matics? How do you do that?

I'm also wondering if there is any way to check which / how many Subscribe-O-Matics I'm subscribed to... I think I'll write the Subscribe-O-Matic folks a support email and see what they say.

There sure is Quaintly All you have to do is click the Subscribe O Matic of your choice, it should bring up a little menu. Click on "RSS Feed" I believe it is. It might prompt you to do something, but it will bring up internet explorer. That page will have all the listed updates contained in the Subscribe O Matic, you can then choose to "Subscribe to this Feed" at the top of the page. I can't really recommend doing this atm as I still haven't figured out if this is the cause of not receiving inworld IMs or not, but it's up to you.

Also, I'm not really sure about finding out how many you're subscribed to inworld.. I know that if you do the RSS Feeds you have a tab on your browser (next to your favorites on mine) and you can see what and how many you have. They might have something you can look at on the website (http://www.subscribeomatic.com) but I'm not totally sure. GL though, hope this helped.

I think it'd be easier to monitor via RSS feed... I keep missing out on the messages because my IMs get capped when I'm not inworld. It's very annoying. I'll read about something on one of the fashion blogs and think, "Hey, I never got that message!" lol

Indeed it is, the capping happens all the time and it is very irritating to have to sort through group notices to find what you missed. I do like the RSS feeds, but not so much for this particular group as I would rather get those inworld. Just keep up to date on them or sometimes you'll miss those "one day only" sales

Ohhhh the "one day only" sales, those are insane!

SL has been so buggy for me lately that I don't even try to make it to those sales anymore. Can't move, can't buy, crash like 5 times, can't TP out lol
