How can you invite someone to a group when they are offline?
It's probably really simple, but at the time [and now] I am really tired.
Plus I can't look around for the feature because the grid is offline.... AGAIN.

I'm not sure you can. I've looked for this many times and been unable to find it.

Just go ahead and invite them. They'll get the invitation when they log on next. If they receive email notices, they get that too!

oh! maybe you mean by not clicking on the actual avatar. Open the the group window and select the 2nd tab (the roles and abilities one I think). There should be a button saying Invite New Member. Then in the person chooser, you type the name and SL searches for it. Click on the name and hit select and the name appears in the window on the left of the person chooser. Then click the button Send Invitation to group.

Sorry I wish I could actually remember the button and tab names, but you can probably figure it out.

Go into your groups list, select the group you want, click on Info, go to the Members & Roles tab, click the Invite button, then use the search thingy to key in their name, click search, select their name in the window, click select, then in the invite window, click Invite.

That's from memory and I might have missed something or got one of the steps out of order, but generally you can do it from your group info floater.

You might be able to do it from viewing the person's profile, I can't remember now.

There's an invite button?!
I don't know how I could have missed that, but thank you anyway.

I will check it as soon as the grid comes online.

Yes, I've gotten invites when I was off line - email and little box when I logged back in...
