I'm assuming my not being able to log in is related to the rolling restart. My login screen gets to the point where it says "Waiting for region handshake" then it bombs out.
I've tried logging into "home", "last location", and a couple of misc. sims.
Anyone know anything about this? If I tried logging into a sim that wasn't down for restart maybe that would work. Anyone reading this that is in SL, could you give me a sim name to try?
Or should I quit wasting my lunch hour and come back later?
As always, thanks in advance, Tex

I'm in. I'm actually at the Forum hangout having an argument about quantum physics with this black cat here, so try Allana.
Just come from Mooalao, which has had its restart, so you could try there too.

LOL last time I had that happen my firewall updated its self with the newest firmware and rules and blocked me from getting on. I had to go in and put my main pc into the dmz. but after not liking being sitting right on the web I went back in and roll myself back to the last fireware/roll and it has been ok since. Its idea to check that too

From: spinster Voom I'm in. I'm actually at the Forum hangout having an argument about quantum physics with this black cat here, so try Allana. That cat cheats, he looks in the book for his replies.

A handshake is a protocol between 2 computers connecting. They identify themselves. So, a problem with that can be network connected, or one of the computers is not there, or gives the wrong identification. If you have it in every sim, it is a good idea to check your end of the connection.

All I can offer is my commiseration because I am sitting here with my share of the borkage blues. I created an egg shaped wearable (cousin to the "barrel dress" and discovered that when I went to texture it that the building program couldn't find most of my textures that I had just reorganized while camping. The textures were still there in inventory. I was in a nice low-lag sandbox too (Eternal Creations). I am going to make that "check to see if everything is all right" trip into the meta-verse. I just hope it is. Usually just waiting around clears up a lot of this. I'd like to be curled up with my sketch diary attempting to recreate mud cloth. Instead, if I'm lucky, I'm going to be "painting prims."

Also, check your ISP is not setting you to strict NAT via a dodgy Speedtouch router (this would apply more to the BT Home Hub than your local ISP but for those British daft enough not to have smashed the white lump of evil, get a new router!!!! All the above steps were tried with my Home Hub, to no avail).
