Remember that place? A trance island with huge traffic, lagged to death by all particles...but wow it was fun there. I spent loads of hours in there when I first came to SL, great music and DJ's, and always crowded.
Haven't been there for a while now and thought I'd go back and check it out...but now I can't find it anymore, so I suppose it is dead? Or am I a completely tard when it comes to search? Do any of you know if it's still up and running but maybe under another name, or can somebody confirm it's dead?
Thank you
Ps. If you know a good place similar to VF, feel free to IM me inworld!

I did a search and couldn't find the Virtual Festival but there is a group with almost 1,000 people called "Virtual Festival Party People". It's free to join.
One of the officers for the group has the group in his picks but it says "You will be missed". I'm guessing that means it's gone.
I'd suggest you join the group and do a shout out in the group IM. If nothing else you may get some suggestions.

Thanks Bradley, I'll join that group and make a shout as you said Alicia; you're right about campers in one way. There was a huge treehouse there with some campingchairs, not that many though, but still annoying. However..I think I earned my first lindens there. I'll check out Dance Island too. Thank you for the fast answers

Yes - I spent a lot of time there when I first started. I still have a folder of "festival clothes" that I picked up there. I was quite fond of camping in the tree house there - my how things have changed.

That place went down? I remember it. That place had a lot of traffic and stayed in the popular places list for a long time. I guess they couldn't make money off it.

Yes I too went there often when I first started. I’ve still got the LM and have returned a few times to find it sadly empty.

Virtual Festival is what kept me coming back to SL for a long time. It was a great place where you could dress as wild as you want and it wasn't too much of a meat market (only a little bit). There were so many weird and beautiful avatars there.
I didn't know they had closed. I dearly loved that place. They will be sorely missed.
Now I'm all melancholy . . . -- KC
