Can you "up" your classified listing price?

Can you pump more Lindens into the amount on your classified ad, or do you have to wait a week?

Or do you get back some of the amount you already paid if you want to start over and cancel the first one? I see the "cancel" button (or whatever it is -- can't remember from last night), but it doesn't warn you whether the Lindens you already paid will just go *poof*.

You can delete your ad but you would be better off leaving it until it expires. You can revise it as many times as you need.

If you want a higher priced classified, you will need to submit a NEW ad.

Xplorer,

Thanks for your reply. I'd be better off why -- because the money does indeed go *poof*?

I did notice how convenient it is that you can revise it at will. And the revisions work immediately in search, too!

The moment you delete the ad you might lose money already paid, unless you're careful. You pay for a week in advance, whether you actually use that week or not.

And while you can update anything in your ad - you can't update the amount you've paid.

Thanks for your reply too, Raynor, but what do you mean? If it's possible to do it, could you tell me how? I'm capable of "careful" if I haven't been drinking too much.

By "careful" I mean that you delete it at about the same time when the week would have run out anyway. It's actually easier to untick "automatic renewal" and make the new ad when the old one's run is over.

The result is the same.

I think what Raynor meant was that if your ad renews every week on a Tuesday, if you cancel the ad on a Wednesday you lose 6 days that you've already paid for. However, at the $50L level it's not much of a loss :D

Best thing to do is go ahead and create a new ad at the price you want to set, no harm done if they are both running at once. Just unclick the "renew" box on the old ad and let it expire.

If it was 50 lindens ... but yes, that's what I meant.

This is generally how I view my fridays.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm not sure where the $50 L comes from, but mine was $1000 L. I woudn't have lost too much sleep over losing 50.

After practicing a lot of searches I noticed that even 1002 would have bumped the ad significantly higher. I was being a rounded-number "sheep" and not being clever when I put that amount in.

And according to my calendar, it's time to start being less careful right about now! Look for me soon, practicing random acts of irresponsibility in a 3D world near you.

The 50 is the minimum amount you need for an ad, hence the idea.

At 1000, I would indeed be rather careful ...
