Underpants/Undershirt showing

I cannot take off my underwear. It is greyed out if I go to remove it in the appearance tab. I have also tried to remove all clothing and they still stay on. The underpants show with the outfit I have on and I can't hide them. They are not in my inventory to take off and do not show as worn. I am age verified, so I am lost. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong?

Some of the default avatar skins have the underware painted on the skin. You would have to change to a different skin.

Oh, that might be the problem. How would I change skins?

If you have another skin, just wear it. It should replace your existing one. You can't "take off" a skin, only replace it with another one.

Okay, thank you. I will try doing that. I bought a shape, but it didn't come with skins. I will try to find some skins.

You can search for the word "skin" in your Inventory, there are some contained in the Library section of the inventory. Then you just "wear" the skin as you would a piece of clothing, and it will replace the one you are currently wearing.

If you don't like these, you can purchase a skin from a shop in world (always try a demo first!), or pick up some free/inexpensive skins. Free Dove and Sarah Nerd's store are great places to start, you can find them with the in world Search.

[Edit: too slow...:o]

You can also join the Freestyle group, which is wonderful because it gives you great tips on high quality freebies, including skins. They have a website where you can go right to the SLURLS inworld of stores too:

http://slfreestyle.blogspot.com/

I've gotten some amazingly great skins by reading that blog, from top manufacturers.

I believe you need to either IM one of the owners or have a member invite you to the group. If I remember, I'll invite you when I log on tonight, but I won't be home until much later. Feel free to drop me an IM inworld to remind me.

I checked recently, and yes, the majority of the free Human female skins in the Library have the underwear painted right on the skin, and it can not be removed - except by replacing the entire skin.

Do you think LL "encouraged" the creators to do that? Maybe hoping to sanitize SL a bit?
