I'm facing a serious dicrease of traffic on my items in SLX... Do you also have such a problem and how much less traffic you notice on your products? This month has seen my traffic go really high compared to previous. How long of a span are you looking at, is it just a week or so, I have had that happen where I feel like I've dropped off the face of the earth on XStreet, but it always bounces back. Also have you added anything new recently? Keeping new stuff popping into your store will keep people coming back and maybe buying something they missed before. Good Luck, Patasha _____________________

Notices a slight decrease since the new website, but not too much. To illustrate, my traffic from the last month.
Worth mentioning is that I run 5 homepage featured items, of which 3 are adult ones. That does give a boost to traffic of course. Furthermore I have 122 active items, which is not too much. The more items you have listed the higher your traffic is of course. Saw you have 20 listed, which does not result in much traffic in general. Would I double my listed items, I would double my traffic, its simple like that. Its just a tedious job ![]() To get your traffic up, list more items, and post them here in the new products forum (since there is no more XStreet forums and the blog thing does not have a category for this). Furthermore you could try homepage featured items, though my experience with those is that running only one did not do me much good. Running 3 of them at the same time (organizer, wedding card, king game for example) costs you 9K for a month, so you would need 18 sales in that time. On the other hand, it does give you lots of visibility. Before doing that, I would advise the following: - Branding: Get a business name and brand all your boxes, so people remember your name. - More and better images: Maybe some details of the item you sell, and somehow make them stand out more. Especially the picture used for homepage feature, should tempt people to click it. - More text! Describe the item better, use keywords for search. And like for the game, simply use the product manual (or part of it) in the description, so people know what they buy. - Languages: If possible make use of the multilingual interface of XStreet. Something I still have to do myself .Good luck, Marcel _____________________

My XStreet traffic has remained about the same.
I need to put some of Marcel's ideas into action, though, especially the one about adding new items. |

If XStreet would only link the $Ls accounts inworld and on the XStreet site, I think we'd all see more purchases there.
Two reasons my purchases have gone down is that I find it harder these days to navigate the shopping site on XStreet with all the changes and it's harder to find XStreet terminals inworld. Another thing I've noticed is that the website takes a long time to load along with search. _____________________

Whenever my traffic gets above 5, I'm ecstatic. On those rare occasions when my traffic gets above 10, I'm happier than a tornado in a trailer park (Cars - gotta love that movie
)!*sighs* I really do need to get back into building again, so I can build up my inventory. _____________________
Of course, its all just another conspiracy, and I'm a conspiracy nut. Need a high-quality custom or pre-fab home? Please check out my XStreetSL Marketplace at http://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=231434/ or IM me in-world. |

Another thing I've noticed is that the website takes a long time to load along with search. 2 days ago we were asked by Colossus Linden about what we though that would help us as merchants. The two most important things mentioned were merging accounts, and combine transactions records. Simply merge XStreet as much as possible into SL. Now I can be wrong, but I do have a feeling Lindens try to participate and listen better then I was used to. Two groups I am in, Zindra Aliance and Second Life Commerce Merchants, both show participating Lindens, so I do have my hopes up ![]() _____________________

Always include a SLURL in your XStreet listing (assuming it's still possible).
I'll use XStreet for searching, but never use it for buying. I don't want to be bothered with a separate account, and for many things, I really want to see them in-world first. For scripted objects, I want the instructions first. For landscaping, etc., I want the 3D view, not a photo. For clothing sets, I want to see what's listed when I click Buy first. And so on. If there's no SLURL, I'll often skip over and go to the next vendor in the list. |
