Why are XStreet purchases not disabled during the current gridwide problems?

Yes, I know that nobody here can answer this, but I just need to say it ;)

Before Linden Lab bought out SL Exchange, purchases on SLX were always disabled *immediately* when there were issues with Second Life. This was annoying, but it prevented the kind of thing that I (and other creators, no doubt) are currently seeing: delivery failure after delivery failure due to "Second Life communications timeout".

I've tried testing delivery, as the Linden that responded to my, "Help! None of my backup boxes are delivering, even when their host regions are online!" support ticket suggested. No dice. Deliveries are simply failing left and right.

So why the hell aren't purchases disabled on Xstreet right now? Yes, thanks to whatever massive problems are causing these, well... massive problems, I'm sure it's all hands on deck at Battery St. But can't *someone* be spared to just flick the switch that greys out the 'buy' button and puts the red "Purchases are currently disabled due to Second Life issues" text on all Xstreet pages?

I'm currently compiling a list of all the people who have had failed deliveries, and whom I shall contact once SL is stable again, to apologise for the delivery problems.

Probably because if they shut XStreet down just because part of the grid was down they would hassled by some business owners complaining they were losing US$100 per minute and demanding compensation :)

I received so many delivery failure notices regarding my megaprim collection yesterday that I decided to do a test delivery to make sure LL hadn't deleted the thing from their database. The failures continued long after 50-some thousand people found their way back online, but seem to have stopped now.

Funny, when XSL was its own company they didn't have that problem.

For some reason, it never dawned on me not to shop on Xstreet yesterday -- and I had no problems receiving anything.

Guess I got lucky.
