Regardless of whether this belongs here.....I feel it's necessary.
I just wanted to send out my sympathies and prayers to all our Italian freinds today. I've just seen the news about the earthquake and it absolutely chills me to imagine what people are going through. So......to any and all of you effected by this tragady...I just want to give you a most heart felt virtual hug and let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. (((((((((hugs))))))))))

What a kind thought to think of this.
I called my partner this morning, he lives in Rome -yes 70 miles away but I was worried and concerned for his family, and just wanted to talk and reassure myself it was all ok.

Nice thread. One of my friends (girl) has an Italian BF in SL and she's quite worried. Hoping he manages to log on at his usual time tonight while she chews her nails meantime.

Just reading the news bulletin for an update, its worse than originally thought..the photos are shocking, so much damage and many more hurt than was first reported (originally it was reported 20 deaths, now risen to over 100)

Yes it' s a terrible disaster my wife and I had little sleep trying to contact my youngest son who snowboards there for the season.
For us it was lucky he is miles away in the beautiful Italian Alps and is safe.
My thoughts and best wishes for the many that were not so .

I was chatting with someone lovely in SL the day before that happened; they live in the area around there and haven't logged in since. Biting my nails a bit also.
Despite my rule of no RL from me, if others feel better discussing theirs I do listen, and it's hard not to care about them after that...
Thoughts & prayers go out to all those in Italy and their loved ones/friends.
