I was one of the people having major issues with Second Life and it crashing / freezing whole computer.
I have just upgraded to the Beta 174 driver from nvidia, results are amazing. First thing I noticed, 25 more FPS, for a total of around 75, running a 8800GTS with Greater stability. This is of course a beta driver but so far it looks clean, I suggest others upgrade to it.
The question is, what are you waiting for?
P.S. The human eye can only see 30 Frames per second.

freezing still persists along with the memory leak.

I just tried it with a 7900 GT? (GS I guess) no go now I am stuck in the loop of my driver is not up to date or supported  clearing all cashe and all logs and traces of SL and re installing with the 169 driver doesn't fix it any sugestions?? EDIT to say other than that the 174 looks to be a great driver my screen and other programs were looking fantastic!

I'm running an 8500GT card and was pretty upset at the sluggishness of it, because I just bought the computer. I downloaded the 174 driver last night and the difference is amazing! Must better graphics, less freezing.
