even a super computer will crash or run out of memory with the SL client so discussing it is pointless

I think you might be interested in what Torley runs. If I remember right he posted his hardware on the blog a while back. I think it had to do with running multiple instances of sl. I suggest you search there also.

The vid card alone will cost US$3,500 (or just short of 1 million L$). As for the computer .... well, it's a little pricy. |

Quadro FX 5600 card. Unfortunately quadro suks in perfmormances with AAxAAF, so three (tri-SLI) 9800GX2 would beat any other setup *with* second life, for 1/3 of that price (around US1000). _____________________
