Best way to sell a business?

When I started designing, I created t-shirts. Boxed per 3 different designs, pictures on the boxes, and sold a few in-world as well as on SL. But now I focus on furniture and the occasional prefab, I decided to drop the t-shirt shop.

Now I do have 3 options:
- Make them all freebies
- Make a BIAB out of them and sell that on SLX for a few hundred linden
- Sell the content full-perm to 1 single person for a tad more linden, but giving them exclusive rights on the designs

The last option sounds the most sensible thing to do, though I wouldn't know how to value the package. On the other hand I don't even know wether anyone would be interested at all to buy such a business.

Does any of you have experience with this?

Thanks, Marcel

OR .. or ...

If you have someone you know with spare land who will go into partnership with you as affiliates ... with a little shop ... lemme know what you think. My little landholding I acquired will only be needed "as is" for a couple of weeks and then it might well be spare.

I suppose it depends a lot on how good/unique the t-shirts are, and how many you have.

I wouldn't go the BIB route, as that lumps you in with the scammers whjo sell free or stolen content that way as newbie ripoffs.

You could certainly donate them to one or more of the many freebie places. You'd get a certain amount of good PR and name recognition from that, though not much.

As for selling the designs to another Player, that might work. I have a somewhat similar situation, in that I started selling t-shirts, and now make virtually all my L$ selling textures and building sims. I keep three clothing and furniture stores open mostly out of nostalgia.

In my own case, I'd just close the stores and stop selling the shirts, and not worry about picking up a few more L$ tryingto sell them to someone else. But I only sell ten or so t-shirt designs. If you had a hundred or more, reselling is more viable.

Negotiate with a few t-shirt sellers, and see what they would offer. 5x to 10x the normal selling price per design is fairly typical for giving someone full perms and unlimited resale rights.

@Cherry:
It is not that I don't have the room to keep selling them, Next to my main store I do have 6 small shops. Just want them disconnected from my name, as it is confusing to be the "owner" of Flatley's T-shirts, and Sampireun Design. So I would not mind you selling them in a shop as long as I don't have to bother anymore LOL. So I will think about that option for sure!

@Ceera:
Its about 20 different designs, so not that many :-) Each design on 3 different models, packed per 3 models in a box (sold at 79 linden). So it will certainly not bring in a great amount of cash I guess.

Another option I thought of is putting the packs in the lucky chairs on my parcel, but I am not sure yet.

Greetings Marcel

If you don't want to be bothered with them anymore. Make them no-transfer/no-mod and put them in a freebie box in your shop (or outside). Spread the word that you have nice freebie shirts and watch them flock (might even check out your other stores ;-)).

This way they are being put to good use and you don't have to worry about them.

marcel, you could always make an alt and give the shirts to him to sell. they'd be connected to his name then and not to yours.
