I want it on a Wii. 3 controllers, one for my head (where am I looking, and I nodding yes or no, am I smiling or fowning) and one for each hand that let me build, point, caress, abuse self, or whatever.

Maybe a fourth controller on one foot so I can walk.

The question is probably more about whether or not the hardware of the PSP would be capable of running the current SL, not whether SL could be released specifically for the PSP. Once the PSP is hacked a little, you can run other programs on it, provided they aren't too intensive for the hardware. I don't have one, and don't know how to do that, so I can't answer the question.

Ok, thank-you :) Sometimes I feel rather behind the times. Gave away all my game console type devices (Nintendo, whatever the other ones were called, one by Sony), and/or retired them (one of those very early ones that I can't recall now . . Col. . . coleck . . . co vision . .. ack) and stopped paying attention to game consoles.

---
whenever I hear certain songs, I still flash back to playing certain games, though :) (used to listen to own music and mute the game music).

i have a psp and hack the hell out of it (software firmware modchips)

its a pretty snazzy machine some of the emulators can run ms-dos and mac os classic, they are slow, but thats becuase its emulating a pc or a mac...

native linux is on the way, but atm its in a proof of concept stage and for the mostpart quite useless

specs
sony/ibm 128 bit cell cpu 1-333 mhz
32 mb ram
4.3 inch, 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD, 480 x 272 pixel (16.77 million colors)
i/o 802.11b (Wi-Fi), USB 2.0, Memory Stickā„¢ PRO Duo, IrDA,

issues with running a full blown Sl client

CPU:
sl is a single threaded 32 bit applicaion, the psp is a 128 bit 333mhz cpu, so you either continue to run SL @ 333mhz which would be painfully slow or you rewrite the entire thing to make use of the 128 bit cpu, wich would give you roughly the performance of a 1ghz pc
but ....

VIDEO:
the psp doesnt have a GPU, nor any real video card to speak of, its synthesized tru software, which uses most of the cpu's power and produces an image quality abit less than a 10 year old gaming pc

also 480x272 is just fine for playstation games, and it works wonderfully for the web its not nearly enugh for SL, i personally run out of screen space with 1280x1024 in SL

RAM & STORAGE
theres many that say that SL's min requirement of 256mb is too low. most ppl recomend 1-2 gb for reasonable performance, the psp's 32mb is just not enugh

storage issues boil down to the memory stick, you could get around the 32mb by using a swap file on the memory stick, but its really slow to write to, and not really a performer when reading (altho much faster than writing)

INPUT:
the psp's analog stick works just fine as a mouse, but sony has never released the keyboard for the durn thing, so if you want to imput text you either have to use the onscreen point and click keyboard (which is tedious) or use a hack to use a usb or infered keyboard, which wouldnt be bad if the client was made as a hack but as a commercial product it cannot be assumed you have a hacked psp

could it be done? shure it might be slow but it could work
would it be worth it? probally not
