What is the busiest day of the week for this sl world? And Resident Answers?
I guessed it might be Saturday rather than Sunday.
A "Friday Thread" is virtually meaningless in terms of its choice of day. Many of us work the full Friday and Saturday and ... so on.
Or do people still have "weekends" in real? I know I don't. I don't work in an office or have a job that has a linear-format of 9-5 so I treat a weekend day like any other day of the week. Do you?
This information could - potentially - benefit store owners in sl, I guess. If you know your audience visiting and spending habits you can adjust your strategies to suit their shopping days and hours.
So, does SL benefit from a traditional week format or are log-ons (even in Resident Answers) lacking an identifiable pattern since our demographic indicates we are societally "global"?

For inworld, I am not sure, but I find the weekdays much much busier here in RA. Many of the regular posters do so from work when they cannot go inworld and post very little on the weekends. My guess is that some of the 'lack of weekend' posting is due to RL being busy on the weekends with stuff you can't get done during work time and part is because many do not mess with the forums when they are inworld.

Lil's answer makes sense to me. I go in to my 9 to 5 daily torment and come home to the forums with an hour or so of reading if I want to keep up with them all. I wouldn't be caught dead reading these forums at work. It would be too hard to explain. I do look at my classical music forum and Facebook from work during breaks, but not SL.

In world with so many bots and different time zones it would be a lot harder to tell, but judging from the opening screen numbers, weekends seem about the same as weekdays to me.

I've always found SL business to be rather slack at the weekends - I don't know if other business owners experience the same thing though. I also find a noticeable seasonable variation too - with June being the lowest trading month for me and December the highest.

During the week, I will look at the forums after lunch for a bit (assuming I'm not out or too busy). Other than that I don't follow any particular pattern, but just fit SL in with my life as and when I want too. It really is my hobby - even though sometimes I feel like it is a second job rather than a second life!

Same here, at the hub where i sell land, we have much more traffic on weekdays than on weekends. Especially during this summer time it is a low in our domain.

Normal in a way, I guess most ppl will rather be out enjoying the sun during the weekend with their family and kids, than staying home and getting online.

Unless we are talking strictly SLT (PDT/PST) it is meaningless to discuss Friday's and weekends as if they are the same all over - they certainly are not. When some people here are talking about a Friday thread, I am usually on Saturday. Only one day of my weekend actually coincides with a SLT weekend too.
Therefore people cannot possibly treat Friday and the weekend the same all over.
People tend mostly to talk about their local region and there are a lot (possibly predominance) of US based people here of which some talk as if there are no other timezones.
For example, Jig's question:

From: Jig Chippewa
do people still have "weekends" in real?
Could be answered yes or no by a majority and still not be pinned down exactly to a period of time that spans exactly one weekend. So the question is really meaningless.

When asking questions like this firstly it needs to be in the context of the inworld time to have a single point of reference, then it needs to be discussed in terms of concurrency figures over a period of time as "busy time" is not very precise at all.

In order to get good demographics that Jig seems to be seraching for, precision is a prerequisite and vagueness has no place.

this could be expanded a bit to include those who insist on using page numbers to refer to instances in the forums. it makes the assumption that all have their settings according to what that individual has chosen. (and is usually just another symptom of their already obvious complex)

I usually talk SLT whenever I am in the forums or inworld -- granted that is only an hour difference for me.

I'm not working in RL as much as I was - because of the recession, so I have more days off. So weekends are less noticeable than normal. Having more time off does give me more opportunity to log in to SL, which I do, but I try to limit myself.
