I have some tenants that are telling me that they cannot see their own prim count in the Land tools or only a partial count. They can see non group member's prims but not their own.
Any idea what this might be all about?
thx

Did they set their objects to the group that owns the land? I did this last week and suddenly I had the same problem. Setting them to a different group fixed it. Of course if autoreturn is on then that's not a viable solution.
ETA: Some quick testing with my own group indicates this happens if their role doesn't allow them to return objects set to group. Since they can't return them the client refuses to even include them in the display. Odd, has it always been this way?

Yes they need that ability to be able to view that list. Offcourse with all risk that come with it.
As far as I know, it always has been this way and it might be too risky since that it will give them the ability to cause mayor problems.

I used to get a lot of arguments about this when I was still renting out by the prim rather then per parcel, the renters could see only the prims they where alowed to return and came to a different number then what was actualy on the land, a mega prim bug back then made it worse, prim counts could be wrong by several prims when there was a mega prim overlapping a parcel on all sides, this bug has been fixed some time ago luckely.

There are scripted prim counters, too, that use llGetParcelPrimOwners(). That function is a little tricky, and seems to work most reliably if owned by the owner of the land--that is, deeded to the group on group-owned land. On the plus side, you only need one of them per sim because it takes a position argument; it might talk to a per-parcel rental box or control panel or the like.

thanks,
yes pretty much the only parcel ability thing that is not checked for them is " return Group Objects"
A person could return other group member's stuff etc.. not worth the risk.
