How do I boot an unwanted AV off of my property.
Does this have a limit in meters as to how far it works. I generally stay in my skybox at 900 and keep having unwanted visitors because it is a beach

well, if you see the av you can right-click > more > eject
or add them to your parcel banlist
or make land access 'group only'

if you want the beach to be public yet dont want visitors in the sky box, a security orb is your best option. it will allow you to set a effecting range as well. ive use psykes orb for years and its always served me well.

reading your question again it occurs to me that i overlooked something important.
there is a limit to how far the linden security features (banlines) will work. i cannot remember the exact distance, but somewhere in the range of 100m above land the banlines cease to function. i assume this is to make airplane travel and whatnot easier. i am pretty sure this 100m 'grace' is revoked in the case of manual bannings though.

so at 900m the only workable option is to:
a) manually ban each avatar that enters
b) use a security orb

Manual banning also has a limit. It was equal to the hight limit at which objects could be placed in havok 1. It may have been raised as of havok 4, I do not know.

At any hight, the banned avatar cannot speak in chat, or touch, pay or otherwise interact with objects. Sitting is blocked as well.

These restrictions also apply to Estate Managers that have been banned from parcels on there estate. Though they can still enter the parcel at any hight.

or make land access 'group only'.

Whatever you do, please, don't activate Red Ban lines. They are only good up to 50 mts from the ground. If your skybox is at 900 mts high, using ban lines will only gain you discord from your neighbors.
Your only option for keeping people off your skybox is a Security Orb.

(When I saw Calveen posting to a "Booting" thread, I was expecting something shoe-related. :p )

No such luck, but the limit is unusual: it's 768m Above Ground Level, not 768m absolute height. (That's kind of analogous to the whitelist access restriction height limit of 50m AGL.) See http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2546.
