I'm on vacation with only my iphone & realized my Ims will be capped soon due to club event notices. Is there a way to leave those groups from sl.com?

Not if it is an actual SL group - you can only do that inworld. If it is a HIPPO group, I believe there is a website where you can manage that stuff -- I personally wish the Subscribe-o-matic site would do this also.

I got a question. You want to leave the group because your IM's will most likely be capped. What difference would that make? They get capped and you can't recieve once the limit is reached............but you leave the group you get none at all. So, it seems to me that you really don't want those IM's to read once you come back from vacation. So, they get capped.........you only loose the few seconds it takes to close the IM box the first time you log on once you are back from vacation.
But, to answer your question........the only way to leave a group that I know of is to be in-world and leave from your groups menu. |

I was hoping that I could leave the group before capping happens. Then I'd still get Ims I want. I can rejoin the groups when I get back!

Can SLIM or Trim or Sleek or Ajaxlife or any such SL clients run on an iPhone? Or maybe from a local library or internet cafe? Maybe one of them will let you leave a group.

Possibly have someone inform the group owner to kick you.
Out of the group of course. |

Possibly have someone inform the group owner to kick you. Out of the group of course. Duh! Such an easy solution. Good thinking. _____________________

yes I thought of that but was reluctant to make more work for a club owner, plus would they eject me from the group on someone else's word that I wanted it?

Here's a video about Second Life on the iPhone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJF3LBREabk and here's a story about AjaxLife on the iPhone. http://secondslog.blogspot.com/2008/08/ajaxlife-for-iphone_3998.html another: http://web.me.com/professoraloha/My_Second_Life_on__an_iPhone/iPhone_App_Conquers_Second_Life/Entries/2008/8/12_Day_of_longboarding.html Movable Life is reported to work on an iPhone http://movablelife.net/login.aspx Perhaps if you get someone to contact the group owner you can establish an alternate method of communication. _____________________

Even if they get capped, if you have your prefs set to send IMs to email when you are offline, then you shouldn't lose anything - assuming SL doesn't bork that up again. The capping simply limits how many you see when you log back in.
