I'm looking at getting into Djing. I just need a "getting started tutorial" I've researched what software I want to use (SAM 4). Just need to get the next step going. Any help woud be appreciated?

I like it when the DJs get really stoned and just talk for hours and forget to play music.

rohan send me an im, if you want to chat about djing, we can set up a time where you can pick my brains

I have been a DJ in SL for nearly 2 years and a DJ on a radio station a few years ago

Hi Rohan and welcome to the forum :)

I'd recommend checking out: http://slmc.myfastforum.org/

That's the forums of the SL music community and quite a few seasoned DJs post there.
They have lots of info there and are very willing to answer questions and help out.
You don't have to register to read the info, you do have to register (for free) to ask questions.

Good luck and have fun!

.

Rohan,

Check out Club School. They will give you training on how to DJ in SL, I found it very useful :)

Hi Rohan

When you are up and running give me a shout as we are always looking for new DJs for a British pub, that goes for anyone else interested.

Hi Jonney,

I guess the big if is do you have your own stream. Thats the problem that i see is, if you have to have ur own and no gigs its a bit expensive so you need to find a gig that has its wn stream. Kind of chicken and egg. Any one know any cheap stream providers?

Most venues have their own stream though.

Rohan, feel free to look me up as well. I can help you though it, and if you are the visual type, do check out the Club School run by VooDoo, but shop around before taking a gig.

0h, obviously you have not been anywhere with decent DJs. :| Trust me, I am in the biz and have seen bad DJs, unfortunately you are right they seem to always be the hardcore stoner types to. :| *Is glad he is drug and alcohol free.*
