A friend told me that for new SL residents, Linden Labs usually chucks some parcels of first land (512m) in the market, for a lower price. Where can I find these parcels?

Jerry, do a search in Land Sales and sort by For Sale: Mainland. The cheapest 512s available will show up on the front page (base price right now is around L$7.2 a meter, so your first plot of land will cost you about $15 US).

If it's any comfort, when the program was active, you'd still have asked the question in the first place. First Land was one of those programs that didn't scale at all with SL's growth.

That's because land-swoopers/bots/scum have always been around and ganking the system to screw over newbies before they learn any better.

There are times when I think SL follows RL too well.

Ray has teh best answer. Look and compare prices and places. Look around and take yoru time. Don't be discouraged by missing "the perfect place" because another perfect place will be somewhere else in a few days.

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Yeah, no rush... I will just work on my merchandise a bit longer, and get some place to ditch one or two prims so I can sell via other sites first.

Exactly! Sandboxes will hold a lot more prims than any first land.

Just wanted to point out that selling is not allowed in Linden sandboxes. :)

Glad you told me that before I submitted a business proposal for my sandbox prostitution ring. :o

I have a few nice Linden sandboxes that I will sell to you for the price of First Land, only
L$512 each. Each sandbox comes with a nice "Certificate of Authenticity" and "Quit Claim Deed" notecards.

Nice suggestion, ArchTx. I have a really nice bridge that looks a lot like the Sydney Harbour Bridge that I can throw in for only a few more $L, to link those Linden sandboxes you're offering, too.

;)

Throughout the American Midwest and the plain states most towns were created by shady land developers. Many people packed up from the East Coast and headed west only to find the beautiful city they'd bought a plot in was nothing but a few stakes in the ground.

With time many of those shady, underhanded developments turned into nice thriving communities. I can only hope that's what happens here.
