This may be a stupid question. Perhaps not.... I better ask anyway...
I have a homestead sim which has a small parcel in the NW corner that allows public access and the rest was set with public access disabled, and group access enabled. Now it is group owned land, set to a private group that only has 3 members. Since we have been here we have had no issues with people dropping by... we have a business alt account that was unable to enter the land, ban lines prevented it. We have also seen other people try and fail. However I was just at the SE corner of the sim with my partner and a man that neither of us know, isnt in the group, and isnt on the access list flew from the public parcel... right across the sim to the opposite corner where we were and hovered there for a few minutes.
Are our settings wrong to prevent this from happening? Is this a small glitch? Am i missing something?
I wasnt sure where else to post this, so sorry if its the wrong place!

Parcel access is only for up to 50m (?) above land level.. above that anyone has access unless you install a 3rd party security system.

Seriously, that shouldn't occur if he was at that height. It is possible that was a glitch in that the guy actually crashed from SL whilst flying and it appeared that his avatar kept going until it was over your plot. That might also explain why he crossed from corner to corner and then hovered for a few minutes.
Who knows though at the end of the day!

haha no... not a Mr Linden. he hovered long enough to speak to me. I'll put it down to a glitch then. it doesnt seem to have happened since. not while we have been there anyway.

Maybe he logged out there long before you got the land, and has never been online since. And on top of Lindens, some people with the last name "Tester" can do amazing things too  |

Sounds like a slow region handoff of the avatar from one region to the other might have let him do it.
Just speculating though.
