Anyone Speak Greek?

Hi All

Does anyone speak any Greek, or know of any places where Greek speakers hang out? I trawled through search, but all I could find were Greek-themed places.

I met a new player this morning. She's been here 3 weeks, and because she doesn't speak any English, I was the first person to talk to her (after I landed on her head!!), which I think is terrible (the not speaking, not the head landing - I apologised for that)!

I took her off to get a translator, which I hope will help her, but whilst we were there we got descended on by half a dozen people all emitting great clouds of particles, which I think scared her off, so I hope she figures it out.

If I could point her in the direction of some real newbie-friendly Greeks, I am sure she would appreciate it.

You might try cross posting this in the SL mentors forum if you don't find anyone here.

There are several groups for Greek speakers, and I think there is a Greek Helpers group, although I'm not sure what the name is. try searching groups for "Greek".

My partner and I ran into a Greek newbie a few weeks ago. She had some English, but we were struggling to help her. We found a couple of Greek groups, including the Helper one, sent a few IMs and had her hooked up with someone who was willing to help her within a few minutes.

Hi Wulfric

Thanks for that. I've searched a bit more thoroughly this time, and have found a Greek Community and a Greek Mentors Group. Have IM'd them and we'll see what happens. I'm a bit wary of sending her off to something that might turn out to be a Greek Sex Club, that will probably finish her off!

I think the Greek Mentors group was probably the one I couldn't remember the name of :).

It's way too early in the morning. I read this as "does anyone speak geek," and rushed right in.
