Hey I got my first attack over the weekend--i think. Logged in to find any items that touched a small sub-parcel that i was doing a script project with some others to be vacant, with items ending up in my lost & found.
Curious to know what had happened. When I logged in, there was a bot-like type that took off a few seconds after I arrived. You know the type, basic appearance, not moving, etc. Is this the notorious copybot?
Quite a few nice objects got sucked up in there, wondering if I should expect to see them for sale or if this was just one big nasty bug.
If it was an attack, what are good measures to take? Admittedly while renting on this land for ages, I just recently bought up the sim to expand and have a whole new set of items to learn about. I want to keep it as liberal as possible, wondering where a good middle-ground is. Small impromptu events have signaled that it will be a popular sim.
I accepted long ago that theft is rampant and originality is at a premium in here, so i'd like to focus on the originality side of things, but would like to make sure that they at least aren't destroyed in mid-build.
Thanks
(PS: Everything's been fixed over the weekend. Actually looks better now anyways)

Do you have building turned off? You might go as far as having scripts turned off also.

you don`t see copybots
the general bots you see roaming around the grid are the so called "browser" bots they index all objects and if for sale, ads them to their database (there are quite a few of these resource hoggers)

bug not attack

yup, was a design bug and not a attack. Since i bought the sim i had rented on, that small parcel had "return objects" selected and forgotten from months ago, but the system apparently didnt know that "Court Goodman the Owner" is the same as "Court Goodman the Renter". lesson learned
