I think I know the answer anyway, but I want to be 100% sure. Situation: Person A has land on an estate parcel, and has her things set to the parcel. The parcel is deeded to her group. She is running a shopping mall with auto-return, and her tenants have their prims set to her group. Person A needs to switch her parcel to another group. She requests Landlord B to help her. Landlord B reclaims the parcel, and sets it for sale to Person A for zero lindens with all objects for sale. Are there any problems with this scenario ? Is there any possibility of 1) objects being sold to the wrong person and 2) objects flying off the parcel to their owners ? FTR, I've done this multiple times and had only one complaint so far.
on edit: sorry, I had to change the first paragraph to make it more common.

doesn't this depend on 'who' all the objects belonged too originally?

To do that change of parcel group ownership, they will need to turn off auto-return, sell the land to the landlord WITHOUT including the objects on the land, Deed the land to the new group, invite all the mall merchants to the new group, and then every person with prims there needs to set their prims to the new group, BEFORE autoreturn is reactivated.

Sell the land and not just allow the landlord to reclaim it ? I'm ok with a sale if that is what must be done.

Thde landlord reclaiming the land gets the land in his name, and the prims that are DEEDED to the land group, but nothing else. Vendors and other prims that are owned by mall merchants Mary Merchant and Sam Seller and just SET TO the group won't get transferred, because the seller of the land does not own them. If autoreturn is on at that point, there go all your merchant's prims.
So, first TURN OFF AUTORETURN. Then someone in the land group with the ability to sell group land sets the land for sale, only to a specific person who is an officer in the new land group. That person buys the land, and then deeds the land to the new land group. Then all the merchants have to join the new group and set their prims accordingly.
