It's gone  I don't have a brilliant graphics card, but sometimes it's really useful to have a higher draw distance, eg if I'm photographing a sim. It does slow me down, but that's fine - I live with it, and reset my draw distance to 96m when I'm done. But in the latest release, it's gone. Can I still increase my draw distance, say to 512m or 256m? |

Just check the "Custom" box on the Graphics tab of preferences, and tweak to your heart's content.

Yes. Check the Custom button in Edit/Preferences/Graphics

You should still be able to, just Check "Custom" beside the graphic level slider, then you will see all the slider and options that can/are adjusted including draw distance, and can adjust them how you like, click you settings level again and it will reset it to that levels default.

But in the latest release, it's gone.
Can I still increase my draw distance, say to 512m or 256m? Yes..check 'custom' and take it from there! You might want to consider upgrading that 'not so brilliant' graphics card, they're not massively expensive, easy to fit and do have a pretty dramatic effect on your 'Second Life experience ' (as Torley would say). I upgraded mine a few months ago to pretty startling effect..I'd recommend it!! Perre..  |
