This may sound goofy- but I can't figure out how to get them back! Not sure I did something- Last night the options were there - and suddenly this morning, I cannot access Inventory or Communication unless I go thru the drop down menu - what did I mess up?

That sounds like a glitch to me. Try rebooting your computer then restarting SL. If that doesn't work, just reinstall the program.

if you mean the buttons at the bottom of the screen goto 'view' and make sure there is an 'x' next to 'toolbar'

Yeah- glitch was my first thought too- didn't see how it could be deemed a "feature" - Oh well- we'll see later- I did check all my checked stuff and it seems the Views were right- I hope I won't have to reinstall- it always scares me I'll lose something that way

From: Amaranthim Talon I hope I won't have to reinstall- it always scares me I'll lose something that way Nah...reinstall is easy. You shouldn't lose anything. All your stuff is on the SL servers, not on your computer.

Have you recently adjusted your UI size in preferences? (It makes the text in the menus and windows bigger/smaller, but things can get pushed off the screen if you go too big.) Also, have you changed the window size in preferences? (I'm not sure either of these would cause your problems, but it would be good to eliminate them as potential culprits. )

Re: re-install and potential loss: Cht and IM logs - wouldn't want to lose those -
Re: Changes in UI size preferences - I don't think so. what I did play with recently was seeing transparencies and objects not my own to help me find a friends missing item.

From: Sally Silvera Copy and paste the folders to another folder or drive. Saved I have my whole hard drive tripled except for some exceptions that are sensitive data that I can remember... generally a good idea to back everything up this way anyway
