Cashing out L$ through PayPal - how long?

Recently I cashed out a few L$ (only about US$ 11 worth) through PayPal. Or rather my utility inanimate alt did. It's got a free account**, but with payment info on file. When 'it' made the payment, it went out of the SL account but hasn't turned up in my PayPal account yet after 3 days. This is my first L$ cash-out in my 3 years in SL. Is this delay normal?

**PS I wanted to keep my own Premium account on my credit card, so I set the alt up for PayPal.

Never having been a PayPal user, I have no personal experience, but I did read in other thread today that it takes 5 days.

Thanks - that's OK then. I don't need to look for a 'bangs head on table' animation after all, then! I'm not worried about the time, only whether the cash has evaporated in some sort of cyber crunch!

if you did it through the sl site then you've probably got another couple of days - they say 0- 5 days but I've never had it take less than 3 and a couple of weeks ago it took over 5 days.

You're better off to use XSL if you can. That can take anything from seconds to a couple of days if you get caught by the risk API (which is always guaranteed with the first transfer but after that is sporadic if you transfer frequently).

It actually requires 2 steps to get the US$ into the PayPal account...
1st.. - Sell the Lindens on the Exchange - This places the proceeds in US$ in your Account
2nd.... Process Credit in order to have the US$ sent to the PayPal Account.

Linden Lab does not automatically process a PayPal credit if you sell Lindens. So if you haven't done the 2nd step.. Process Credit.. the US$ is just sitting at Linden Lab. Having that PayPal info on file does not mean they will automatically send the Money. Check your account page. You will see a Linden Balance and a US$ Balance. Process Credit is located under Lindex Exchange... Manage.

Cashing out via XStreet to Paypal still only takes minutes, because they still use the mass pay feature.

I've never known the transfer to PayPal to take less than 4 days - if it goes over 5 days, chase them up. I expect it's a busy period for the staff dealing with cash-outs.

Second that. In general it takes seconds, only the first cash-out takes some longer. I always transfer my lindens to XStreet, sell them there and then transfer the dough to paypal.
