Group Chat error messages

For the past week, I have been getting messages while in world "Unable to start a new session with (insert a group name here). The session no longer exists'." This is despite the fact I haven't started a chat session and sometimes it occurs for groups I haven't spoken in for days. This is also being reported to happen to lots of other people. Some of the groups I am in or run are quite large. But it also happens from groups that have not nearly as many in them. One group posted notices they had contacted the Lindens about this problem and the lindens told them it was the size of the groups. Yet its happening to many of us who are in smaller groups too. Anyone know what is going on or how to fix it or combat it?

yes this is getting really annoying I get group messages when I'm logging in and that error message pops up, which means I can't even log into group chat enough to shut it down...and so keep getting error messages anytime anyone chats in there. Is there a JIRA on this? (going to look)

I didn't see one so I created a support ticket.

Here is the only way I am able to use group chat: If I go to 'advanced' and 'clear group cache', it will let me open a group chat long enough to be able to post a message or to close it out completely, so I don't keep getting that annoying error box...

Thanks for posting the jira and for the tip. This becomes a huge problem for our Midnight Mania group that relies on group chat to call slurls for the MM boards. I have found if I open the group chat before I get an attempted IM, it will let me read the messages and click the slurls.

Yes, the problem has been around for almost 2 yrs now, though we do seem to go in an out of modes where it gets worse.

The old joke was that if group chat was working properly, it meant the rest of SL was hosed so be careful what you do during those times.

Please fix this!!!!!!!!! I keep getting these chat session does not exist messages every single time someone starts a group message that is not active!!!!!!
