I've been trying to upload a sound with no success.
I keep getting an error message "Files does snot appear to be supported sample rate (must be 44.1k).
Is this the bit rate or size.
I tried to upload one which is under that and one that is over that, If that is the only size, how do it change the size of a sound???

Keep your file like this and it will upload: ================== PCM WAV format 44.1 KHZ sampling 16-bit stereo or mono Less than 10 seconds ==================

A great free audio program is Audacity, but Windows users can also use Windows Sound recorder for most things.

If you record your own sound clip using Windows Sound Recorder, use "save as" to save the clip and you should get a "change" button to allow you to choose the format mentioned in the previous post - the default is not compatible with SL.

Sorry downloaded I meant to say then it is probably an mp3 format..you need to download it and decompress it to wav file.. like someone said you could use audacity for that or a few other programs but audacity is free and very user friendly and well made..

Sorry downloaded I meant to say Open it, mix it down, and clip the sound into 9 second parts. You can then upload all the parts into SL and place them in an object (number the parts so they are in proper order) and with a music player script you can then click the object and it will play the sounds linked together like one unbroken sound file. You can get a script for a sound player from the script library. I have a few but have not done this since they started allowing music streaming in 04.
