forbidden to post - on typepad blogs?

I've been unable to post comments to blogs hosted by typepad. One of two things happens... Either you type in a comment and hit the Post button and it then asks you to sign in to typepad (e.g. New World Notes) or the post button is disabled (e.g. Prok's blog).

Anyone else seeing this?

On Prok's blog, are the fields already filled in with your details? If so delete the information and re-enter it. It's supposed to detect when you've filled the information in before the post button comes alive, it seems that sometimes when those fields are already filled in that the detection process doesn't work properly.

It didn't work to delete the info. Tried it in four different browsers on the PC (IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari). Tried it in Mozilla on the Mac and it works.

Trying to post to New World Notes gives me an error.

I have two support tickets in.

Someone from support posted on Prok's blog. I had it on Prok's blog the other day, first of all I got a mad error page and then I couldn't post, the post button remained greyed out. That's when I tried deleting the preset boxes and it allowed posting again. I'm using Firefox 3.

After you deleted the info, did you type something in the comment box?

You are probably better off not posting to either of those blogs anyway.

ST - The less said about Prok's diatribes the better.

Prok's blog wouldn't let me post, too-because I shared the same first name with some supposed griefer/PN/person Prok doesn't like. It automatically blocked me. Not that it helped when my post was finally unlocked....

I think I've narrowed the nwn problem down to scripts and cookies. Typepad is tossing a ridiculous number of cookies and running scripts on a stupid number of sites, and I had to unblock them all before I could even preview a post on that site.

Still having the problem on Prok's site, even running IE, in which I don't even know how to block anything since I don't use it.

I think I'm just going to have to resolve to ignore typepad blogs, and dump my own. I won't have my computer treated like a damned toy.

Hmm. My own typepad blog only runs scripts from two sites, and doesn't seem to have that button-disabling feature.

Seems all the crap they've put on their blogs comes at a price.
