How does one allow renters to set their own media streams?

Hi.
I have a 65ksqm open space sim with two renters. I have the land set to my group, (Not deeded) and the rental area subdivided. I have full estate manager rights on the sim.

One of my renters wish to change the media stream themselves.

The land is set for a group specially made for the renters, but they still can't set their media streams- even if they wear the resident tag. I can enter their parcel and set it myself, but they can not.

How can I set their parcel to allow them to do this?

Thanks in advance
-Zerock

What worked for me was to change the abilities of the roles of the tenants.

If you open the group, you will see that under abilities is something about setting parcel media. Just assign that ability to whatever role you have set up for your tenants.

Correct. Just open the group they are in and the land is set to and click on the rolls Tab. in there you can allow permissions to change media settings . then you should be good to go .

the land HAS to be deeded to the group or it does not work

and you have to enable the media options in the roles of the group

If you deed the land don't tick the owner makes a contribution box, it's not needed on estate land.

Group perms such as set home require that the land be deeded too so you really want to consider doing this.

Group Liabilities warning

Please make sure you UNcheck this option:

Accounting
Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends

Everyone defaults to have this ability. It sucks! And there are unscrupulous group owners (which I have dealt with) who set this so that their group pays for their parcel listing fees.

Members in a Role with this Ability will automatically pay group liabilities and receive group dividends. This means they will receive a portion of group-owned land sales which are distributed daily, as well as contribute towards things like parcel listing fees.

One downside of your proposed solution is that any tenants will be able to change the media settings on the entire sim, not just on the part that they rent. If the tenants are good trustworthy people it might not be an issue.

Another way to go would be to place a scripted device (radio, jukebox, whatever... what the thing looks like doesn't matter, the script inside it does) on the tenants' land that allows media changing.
