hi, I am Estate owner that owns 4 sims and moving and renaming sims can eat alot of money out of the pocket..
what bugs me that you need to wait 10 business days since you place in a ticket before they move the sims and you need 150USD in your account to make that happen. specially when you need to move away form a group of sims.
though that I can pay it, it costs a lot, and LL shouldn't need to eat 150USD just to move a sim to another spot and specially with a group of sims you don't get it cost easier, like less per sim being moved at once...
I really think it should be 50USD per sim or lower for naming and moving.. not 150USD..
what do you think.

You can buy another region and you can have them moved for free. If you rent the open space region for 75 a month right away, heck, that only costs you $25usd after you consider the cost of moving the island.

Thought I would break it down in case there is a question of my math. $250 for open space region -$75 first month rent (you get first month free) -$150 potential cost of moving regions _____ $25 Final Cost

I think the idea is no so much LL trying to gouge you, rather it's them saying, we'll move/rename the sim if you want to, but we really don't want to waste out time doing it, so, if you want it done, we'll do it, but we're gonna charge a fee that will irritate you enough such that you don't do it that often. Sort of like a bounced check charge, you can do it, but be prepared to get dinged. http://www.secondscripter.com/

Not really sure I follow your math here. You are suggesting the person purchase an openspace sim instead of just waiting for the move??? Please correct me if I am misreading it but you were not very clear there. If that is what you are suggesting, your math is a bit off. You have it as:
$250 for open space region -$75 first month rent (you get first month free) -$150 potential cost of moving regions _____ $25 Final Cost
Actual Math: Current Sim Tier: $295.00 US per month Cost of move/rename: $150.00 fee _______________________________________ Total paid at end of month $445.00 US
If done your way:
Current Sim Tier: $295.00 US per month Purchase of Openspace $250.00 US _________________________________________ Total paid at end of month $545.00 US
Plus now the Op will be paying an additional $75.00 US per month in tier each month thereafter. I believe I would spend the $150.00 US and wait the 10 days vs paying all of this addl money and increasing monthly tier.

From: FelCoBot Ansar Actual Math: Current Sim Tier: $295.00 US per month Cost of move/rename: $150.00 fee I think the point was that if you purchase a new region then moving/renaming existing regions that you own is actually free, otherwise people purchasing new regions but who have no space next to them would be forced to pay to move all of them which isn't very fair. LL however might be clued into this "work around" and might charge for the move anyway though. So the cost of the new sim AND the move is the set-up cost of the new region, assuming it's an open-space sim that's a one-off $250 fee, you then rent, assuming you break-even on the rent, then you can ignore it. At which point, you have saved yourself the cost of having to move/rename any regions (which could be quite a few as well) at $150 a pop by doing this "cheat". So it works out as $250 - $150 for every sim you moved when you purchased the new open-space region.

What Johan said is someway right: the costs is there just to discourage ppl to move and rename their islands so often, since a single rename takes nothing (litterally), tenth per day would be a real task (and may potentially introduce odd issues: map not updated.. etc.). For information purposes: a rename/relocating is done editing the config file (remotely indeed) and relaunching the sim (yes it takes approx 10 seconds... so the 150 usd aren't because of the man working time). Anyway i agree that a more reasonable cost (eg: 50 usd) would still a deterrent for certain ppl, but a fair price for those that really need to move/rename their islands for a justified reason.
