I am confused. I have land, and a group.
I would like certain group members to have permission to control the ban, eject and access functions for the land.
Do I need to deed land to the group?
What are the dangers in this?

Best advice I can give is to look over the roles and spend a lot of time doing it before you decide to give anyone control of things. You would need to deed the land for what you are looking to do. You then need to make a new role for those you want to have certain powers and go through the list (carefully!) and check or uncheck appropriate powers. Again, take a lot of time to look through the roles and what they do, keep the land safe by being fully educated on the powers you hand out. Would hate to see you have any land issues.
I am sure someone else will come in with more detailed help, good luck! =) _____________________

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that yes, you must deed the land if you want others to be able to ban, etc. Be very careful, though. When you deed land to a group then you technically no longer own the land, the group does.

What are the dangers in this? Yes, it must be deeded. You must take care to ensure that the group members have appropriate powers and no more. The danger is that you might accidentally give someone the power to sell the land from under you, abandon land, terraform the land and mess up your work, return your items, or you might mistakenly include them in the accounting, which would split any payments to group with them, or force them to pay parcel directory fees. As Dinalya said, read the roles carefully and decide what powers you want to give. _____________________

I had to smile last week when my newest tenant on my super-expensive, corner, double protected ocean beach plot asked me if I could deed the land to her group, rather than her joining mine, as this would save her so much time in having to change titles when she came home!
Um, sorry, no, don't think so. Please be extra careful when setting up the roles, particularly when you get to the accounting and the set land for sale bits. Edit - Cristalle, how's that new super computer?? |

Another thing to remember is once you deed the land to the group, the group owns the land not you.

/me waves to miss Hu.
I've been behaving, I promises *crosses fingers* As your group, yep need to deed and check the group roles to see who can and can't do stuff, one critical one is the abandon and sell land options, drop me an IM and I'll help you sort trough the roles. Oh don't give Astrid "the primpolice" return powers, she would return every window and step to safe prims *snickers* |

Hiya all,
Would you have to deed the land to a group if it was a rental group? I just have my plot 'set' to group. I did try out the rental process etc with an alt and it seemed to be okay... |

You don't have to. But tenants cannot set home, and you have to own media devices for them to work.
