I have been trying to log in for about 2 hours now, and no joy.

I got on once this morning and crashed after about 1 minute.

The same has started to happen to me now and I am getting REALLY upset.
I have stuff to build but I can not do it cause I crash and nothing rezz (Including my shape)
Pity that I was in midst of changing outfit when this hit me so I am stuck at home.

I guess I am gonna go watch TV and play some other games for a while.

I didn't crash, but have had to re-log about 10 times due to textures not rezzing properly, or upload error messages (saying they couldn't be uploaded, when in fact, they were!)

Teleporting requires me to TP somewhere (anywhere) then to the destination I want, rather than going directly.

I'm starting to think maybe RL is a better option, at least for this afternoon *sigh*

Scripts are loading slowly and I just tried to pay a rental box but nothing seems to have happened there. Which is quite a worry really.

From the blog:

"Sluggish Logins and Asset Performance
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at 12:10 PM PST by: Teeple Linden

Operations is addressing several aspects of in world performance which have become sluggish over the past few minutes. Symptoms include:
Slow logins,
Colorless avatars,
High pending download counts in various regions.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep you posted as the team works to resolve the traffic jam."

I was in before, nothing rezzing etc. Thought I'd work on a texture instead. Tried to log back in no luck: "ÿour account will not be available until ..." :(

Guess I'm stuck in the traffic jam, and I don't even drive

/me runs through the thread, thwapping people with a rolled up newspaper.

Not one even says what OS they're on let alone any details on their setup, which is easily available in a fairly-standard format from Help->About Second Life.

The same OS that was working a lot bloody better with the same client a week ago. This is not a configuration issue at my end.

I have a related question.... what kind of crashing are you doing? Is it good, old-fashioned crash to desktop behavior, or is it taking down your whole PC? All of a sudden, I can't TP at all without my screen going blank and my losing the whole PC. Nothing works but a hard restart at that point. I'm clearing cache, etc. inbetween as a precautionary measure, but this crash makes me wonder if it's client-side behavior. Or is everyone having as much fun as I am right now?

And so I don't get whapped with a newspaper, I've got a Core 2 Duo 6420 at 2.13Ghz, 2 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS. This PC can handle Second Life (and then some), so that makes this behavior that much more worrisome. This is happening to me both under the 1.18.4.3 viewer and also the Windlight viewer, whose version I don't have handy at the moment.

for me it was just crash without knowing I crashed, I would still appear in world

have to close SL and restart, was not causing me to have to reboot system

today I am not able to log in without issues, blah

guess the boots and skin (and heck even shape) will have to wait to be set for sale

I've had this type of crash forever.. in both XP and Vista. It happens on average every hour or so... My friends and i have gotten used to it. When I make new frieds I have to warn them that I might actually crash at the worst possible times. :)
