As long as the object is not worn or attached or rezzed those scripts are merely sitting in LL's servers doing nothing. They are in those servers until the item to called from the inventory by the owner of the item (i.e. worn by the owner). Just being in the inventory the person can not be tracked. Those items can be deleted from the inventory without having to rezz or wear them in any way..........right click the item and choose "delete". Then, if you want it gone for good "empty your trash".

Another very obvious answer but sometimes overlooked- have friend ck if she ever had the see on map thing ckd - just in case apart from a scripted object she is watched that way.

Attachments could contain monitoring scripts, but they can't do anything if you don't wear them or drop them on the ground. Left in inventory, or deleted, they are rendered harmless. (Clothing items that don't use prims can't contain scripts at all, so those are harmless in any event.)

Interesting. I didn't know that you could script an object to "track" its wearer. How does that work? Does it compile a record like a guest listing script? Or send a message about the avatar's movement? Anyone know?

The simplest would be a little script that periodically sends out a little email or IM containing its own location. The only thing that makes it "spy stuff" would be that the person wearing the object doesn't know the script is doing that.

Hmmmm. What would be the point of it, other than spying?

Ahhh. kk, that makes sense . . . in a pet. But in a wearable object?

it doesn't actually track the wearer as much as it announces where it's at (which would be the same place the wearer is).... at a minimum, it's 2 lines of code. very useful for vehicles that get lost in sim crossings or because you got ejected by someones hyperactive security system.

ETA:
legitimate use in an attachment could be as simple as something that keeps track of what sims you were visiting (so you can go back later) or things like RP huds...

He could also be lying.

Tell her: Delete & purge anything he gave her.

This -- and then MUTE him so she does not have to deal with any IMs from him.

What the posters above said. There are lots of ppl in SL who lie and try to scare others. They have no real power over you, just mute and go on living as usual. The worst they can do is standing around near her, but when they are ignored they don't get the attention they need.

Because they can find people if they know which clubs you go in. And join groups you are in and see if you are logged in, then go to the club and say: "I know you were here, my supersecret spy device tracked you down" and lots of other crap.

Defriend them, mute them and find new places to visit for a few weeks.

I had an old girlfriend who tried this scripting spying trick. When I realised which items were causing the trouble, I gave the offending clothes to a gigolo friend in zindra and he tp's all over the place. That must really have really freaked her out.
