Lindens put up a bunch of badly worded polls about Windlight, then listened to a bunch of artsy types that told them the really odd 10 minutes at dawn and dusk where colors wash out and are overly bright was PERFECT for all day. Its quite insane....set the time for noon in windlight, face the sun....your front will lose all detail to overbrightness (especially if wearing lighter clothing or skin) and your back will be too dark to make out details....yet the Linden in charge of Windlight (forget the name) assured us many times on the blog that this was 'normal'....though I have yet to see it happen RL. LL needs to really tone down the hyper-brightness that came into being with the artsy folks on the windlight project.

Which version are you using? The standard viewer, 1.19.1.4, is Windlight, as is the 1.20 Release Candidate test software. The only non-Windlight viewer still being officially supported is the 1.19.0.5 I have linked in my signature.
