i would love to see LL add Constructive solid geometry to Second Life! If you dont know what CSG Is, Read this! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constructive_solid_geometryWe got Havok4 and Mono, Windlight and HetGrid....now how about some new shiney kickass building tools! In Before 'Stablity Before New Toys' replies My Resident Question Is : How do you request new features from LL ? Thanks! The merger of two objects into one. The subtraction of one object from another. The portion common to both objects. Combining these elementary operations it is possible to build up objects with high complexity starting from simple ones.

InSL u find every kind of no-life retard you could possibly imagine as well as a few even Tim Burton couldnt imagine u find 12yr-olds claiming to be 40 men claiming 2 be women, women claiming 2 make sense and every1 claiming 2 have ideas that are actually worth a damn if only someone would just listen to their unique innovative and exceptionally important idea

I like that idea too, but there's a few problems with it. Boolean operations tend to create some messy vertices and extra faces which would add to the load we already get to experience.
I guess it also depends on "how" they'd implement that. If it was like Booleans in 3D Studio MAX, then no. UnRealEd- Yes!!! A thousand times yes!!
If they can fix that, then YES!! It would be very cool!

Just a flat hexagon shape would be useful as an extra prim, ie when rezzed it would be the cylinder shape with 5 sides horizontal and the top and bottom flat

From: Tod69 Talamasca I guess it also depends on "how" they'd implement that. If it was like Booleans in 3D Studio MAX, then no. UnRealEd- Yes!!! A thousand times yes!! Features like some of those in UnrealED would be a Godsend to SL! Add, subtract, intersect, deintersect, lions, tigers, and bears.. ooohh myyyy

This feature would be brilliant for intersecting hollow circular-section tubes, like if you have a space station or something.

Heck - I'd be happy with just being able to offset hollows / holes from center. Or to taper a sphere.

Second Life could never compete with a dedicated 3D modeler and so I think it's time for LL to forget about the build tools and to focus more on adding the ability to import objects made externally.
I also think that it's questionable to add building tools to a social environment. It was fun in the old days when we would all goof around in the sandbox and nobody cared about money. But these days people expect so much more.

No one ever suggests a whittle function. Novoking allows importing 3D models from external apps. There's one someone imported into the free land they have available during the testing period. I think there's some demand for building methods that are simple, for people that enjoy the process of using magic building blocks, so no reason to cease the improving of inworld, prim-based building.
