Hi

I am working on a proposal for a virtual campus for the College where I'm employed. Looking around the LL web site, I found the place to buy an island, which notes "65k square meters" and some little pictures of four island shapes.

Well, that doesn't help me to visualize the scope of such a place.

If anyone is able, could you please send me an LM inworld of any of these four island types, pretty much fresh out of the box? Doesn't matter if there are builds on it.
I want visit there to get an idea of size and initial elevations.

Thanks

B.

Search the map for "Linden Estate Services": to the east (right) you'll have empty sims with all the available options (except Oceanica but that's just all water).

(Or just search the map for the name you see on the private region page on the site)

Don't forget to make you iniversity welcome to visitors. I hate those snotty ones that invite only or have toffs tonking around like intellectual flippertygibbets. I wanna go to the student union bar or maybe sit in on a few lectures.

I agree with you, Jig.
I met a script writer who did some work for a school on the other side of the planet. What I saw on their web site looked great.
But it's closed to outsiders and no one replied when I emailed them, using my work account, to ask if I could have a tour. We don't even teach the same subjects!
Pffft.

Of course I'll put a pub in the budget :)

I think just the fact that the school will be on an island in the middle of nowhere would make it far less likely that "undesirables" would pop in to cause grief.

I helped someone with a project at FLCC Campus in world, I had to go there to complete it and the person I was helping asked me to make sure I dressed appropriately. I think that if they could count on people to behave themselves and not come cruising in assless chaps and a thong or something (worse) they wouldn't have to worry about visitors.

I went back to the FLCC thing to show my partner what I had built there after hours, and one of the professors flew right over to see what we were up to. I had a nice talk with him (small world, FLCC is only 1 1/2 hours away from me in the real) and he told me that they can't stop their students from going 'off campus' on their own time, but they try to discourage it.

Brann, you don't have to stick with those four stock configurations.

You can give LL a terrain file, and they can turn over your new region to you already terraformed to your specification.

Or you can order a flat island, and apply the terrain file yourself.

Or you can use the terraforming tools to manually shape your island as you wish.

Or you can hire a terraformer...me, for example...to do that for you.
