Color Fade?

Have been experiencing color fade on some black and dark brown objects, i.e., black countertops and bookcase appear gray 98% of the time. Browns appear lighter shade. Thought it was only me, but friends experiencing the same. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Any solutions?

I''ve haven't downloaded the new SL version, but some friends have, so I know that's not the problem.

Overly bright local lights including facelights, maybe?

Also, are you using custom windlight settings? The most common one I have seen passed around are way to bright for my screen.

I switched to basic shaders and that fixed the problem.
