Since a few days I can't upload any attachments/pictures with a posting on these forums. Is that a known issue? The error message says:
There seems to have been a slight problem with the SL Forums database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

I didn't think the forum ever supported attachments or uploads.

Yep, uploads have been unavaliable for last few days. I was getting same message, tried a few things, even attempting to upload documents which I had successfully uploaded to the forums before, but same message. Gave up in the end

I think it is limited on certain parts of the forums i.e gallery and texture page.
Even then I think it is limited for server purposes.
It is best to just post your own images via your own site through the insert tab in forums enhanced mode.
And I strongly suggest you only post images for your avatar picture by your name but its bit annoying to get it a image at the size requirement right

I have been getting that msg in the for sale section (where one coudl normally upload photos as attachments) for a few weeks now
if you follow the threads over there, you can see where it started via when folks stopped having attachments

Okay, so that's not a high priority issue for LL, so it seems. I don't understand, we are losing more and more functionality on the forums (html tags are already long gone) and nothing is done about it? Oh boy, basic forum functions are the least one can ask for...
