As the subject implies, there's a big prim covering like half of my land. It extends off my land and onto another piece of land. But I want it gone, and I can't get rid of it, cause it wont let me delete it.

What's up with that?

PS I have land on the mainland.

Thanks,

Matt

Poke it with a stick.

Sounds like a megaprim that was rezzed on a neighbour's land. Ask them if they are able to delete it.

If you are not able to auto return (as it sounds like it is a mega-prim), then a/r it.

If you can click it because the center of the prim is on there property, you have to fill out a support ticket or AR to have a linden move it.

You need to do an AR for encroachment. LL can remove it for you.

But before doing that, find who the owner is and send them an IM asking if they can move or remove it. Makes for happier neighbors if you just ask them rather than going through the "police."

If the prim is actually on your land, you should be able to return or delete it by right-clicking the prim and choosing from the pie menu. The problem is that the prim might actually be centered on somebody ELSE'S land but extending onto yours, In that case, the owner of the prim or the other plot has to take care of it.

The first step is to contact the owner of the prim and see if you can get him to remove it. If that fails, contact the owner of the other land. If that doesn't work either, then you can file an AR on the prim owner to get LL to remove it. If the other land belongs to Governor Linden, file a support ticket to get a Linden to remove the prim.

Finally, if you were trying yesterday (Monday, May 12) afternoon, there were some serious asset server issues then. Try again today.

Be careful though - it may be a Vogon constructor ship.

Abuse Report is under the Help menu. If you do go the AR route, there's a chance your neighbor can get in a little trouble. Dunno if you care about that but it's worth mentioning.

Use the words 'megaprim parcel encroachment' on the subject of the AR.

Thanks. I've contacted the user, so hopefully Ill hear back from them soon. However, this is not a leisure thing. I'm actually doing research for my company, and need to build things, thus I don't have an enormous amount of time to wait for the owner to get rid of the object.

Matt - go ahead and abuse report the object. If your neighbor has not responded yet, then click on the object, click on "more" until you have the "abuse report" option. You will photograph the object when abuse reporting it. I wouldn't wait too long for a response. Your neighbor leaving a prim that large covering more than one parcel was very inconsiderate. It may not even be your neighbor that did it - but someone covering their land with the prim. =)

It you can't wait, don't. When I AR litter, I usually include my impression on if the owner is malicious or just stupid. Malicious should be punished, stupid is it's own punishment.

Once you do the AR, you'll get an email from LL with an "RT" number on the subject line. If you really need this thing gone, head over to the support pages and do a live chat. Tell them the RT number right up front and say you're calling to ask if they can remove the litter right away. If the support person isn't swamped, they might come by and fix you up within a minute or so..

Good luck!

Ummmm this was not in the Atai sim was it? I rezzed some megas yesterday but they did not appear due to asset server borkage. when I logged in this morning there they were - large as life all over the place - I nearly eeeepd srsly.

I got all of them I thought but if I didn't or more appeared later then I am very sorry and I will clear them up.

Of course if this is someplace different - then forget I spoke *whistles whilst walking nonchalantly away*

You can go to the sim and anything that is yours will show up light blue on the mini map.

I am actually referring to prims that might have appeared after I last logged out - I am not able to get inworld until around 12am SLT. When I rezzed the first lot they did not appear until sometime after I had logged and thats why I had fun next time I logged on. So I thought it is concievable that some might have lingered in the system and be waiting for me once I get inworld tonight. I am quite familliar with the mini map too but thanks for the help anyways :)

It is also possible one of your neighbors might have turned on All Residents build on their About Land, for one reason or another. They might have forgotten to turn it off when they left and someone else discovered this little oversight. See if you can IM any of the other parcel owners and suggest they should also file AR's.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine and she contacted everyone she could in 3 sims about the mega prim up in the air. A bunch of landowners filed AR's and got their friends to file too. The megaprim was gone in short order. It turned out the mother prim was over land that the owner had forgotten to turn off the All build permission. She had gone on vacation and didn't know this was going on.
