What's the current island delivery turnaround time?

I'm guessing the Concierge team is swamped with orders, because it's been 8 business days since I ordered a bunch of Openspaces, and I haven't heard a peep. All the tickets are "Work in Progress," but that's all I know. I don't want to bug them if they're already busy, so I'm curious- if you've ordered an island lately, how long did it take? (Before, I've typically gotten new islands in between 1-3 business days.)

I also wonder if there's a difference between full island and openspace delivery time, since openspaces are submitted through the ticket system, whereas full islands go through the land store?

I put in a ticket ordering 3 openspace sims on March 8th - the day after the big blog announcement - and they were delivered on March 15th. Of course the tickets were 'work in progress' without a peep of news from LL until after they were delivered, so there was no heads-up. I even asked a Linden how things were going wrt the openspace islands on the 15th, and he said they were very backlogged, so I wasn't expecting anything for at least a few more days.

One thing I'm slightly dissapointed about at the moment, when you order via the land store you get an invoice/receipt emailed to you for the purchase price. The ticket system provides no such receipt and although I asked for one in my ticket, I didn't receive one.

Anyhow, back on topic - I would say you should expect the islands any time now.

What concerns me is not getting a simple email as to the status of the land. Makes me wonder how lax the support will be.

Even though I hate Hate HATE the Land Store, at least you could peek at the status changes and know when the island was about to drop. When it says Pending, you can usually even log in to the island (specify its name at the login screen) before they've assigned the owner and estate.

But they haven't even charged me yet, so I'm just here at the edge of my seat.

I ordered 1 open space march 12, the ticket is still status "new", not even "work in progress". In concierge group chat someone said he was told a delivery time of 15 business days (that was ... friday or saturday last week).

/me sighs

Thank you for your continued patience :-)

Just a followup note - they didn't take the money from my account until the moment they delivered the islands - so I couldn't even use that as a hint. I had figured they'd take the money before they started working on it.

I order my Openspace using the ticket system (and it have been sitting there fgor 4 days), would it be better if I call directly to Concerige and order it on the phone? Can I do that?

Thanks

I'm betting they are slammed with people buying openspaces :) It wouldn't hurt to ping them about it.

Took me Two Weeks to have an island transfer done recently.

New orders I would expect might take longer.

Well, island transfers have almost always taken longer than new island orders, with an ETA of between 6 and 10 business days. Most new-island orders I've had were completed within 2-3 days, and one island was actually delivered 24 hours after I placed the order.

Weird, I've always seen it the other way around.

Island transfers done in days, new orders done in weeks.

You might have hit them when they're low on hardware, and I wonder whether that's an issue right now, with all the new openspace orders. When I ordered my very first full island there was actually a shortage of the servers they used and I (and many others) ended up waiting for a couple of weeks for new boxes to come in.

Getting Hit Hard
03-27-2008 16:42
First one went from New to Work in progress in on day and delivered in 7. This one is still new after 8 days. Called to check and they are working on it but they are hitting 10 days now.

Should have this one soon.

I ordered sims on the 16th and the 22nd and the tickets are all still in new status..... I'm not holding my breath one bit over these orders... LL opened up the flood gates with these new sims... anyone placing orders should seriously do so and forget about it for a while - EXPECT to wait.

1 ordered early morning march 12: delivered march 25 (ticket never turned to "work in progress", went from "new" to "solution provided";)
2 ordered late evening march 12: delivered march 26 (ticket turned to "work in progress" march 25)

1 ticket open for moving a region from march 15, still marked "new".

My 5 orders all took 11 business days (15 real days). Each time, I wasn't charged until the island was delivered.

Glad to hear they all finally arrived! Too bad about the delay, but I guess it is just a day beyond their published target of 10 business days.

I wonder how long the surge will last - a month, to get through the increased demand on openspace sims? Or perhaps there's enough demand to keep them busy for a quarter?

I predict (for what its worth) that the surge will go at least through the next quarter
