noob question

ok the first thing I want to ask is after I type in the coordinates of where I want to be on that map menu how do I teleport there the teleport button doesb't work by the way

Try clicking on the map on the area you want to teleport to.

Which viewer are you using? I only ask because if you're typing in the coordinates and name of a location....and the map shows it....then you should be able to click the teleport buttun at the bottom. Is it grayed out? Or is it simply NOT teleporting you when you click it? Perhaps it's a bug in the viewer.....not sure (I rarely teleport using the map myself)


Also, keep in mind there's many different ways to teleport to locations on the map.....you can use the search places/classifieds and explore that way......or you can use landmarks from your inventory by double clicking them .....

It's also possible you are trying to go somewhere that doesn't allow public access......so it would help if you explained a bit more about how you're getting these map coordinates to begin with....we should be able to help you sort it out with more info.

the thing is it is no where near me not even on the same island so how can I get it on the map?

Bring up the full map.

- Enter the name of the sim in the region field on the right of the screen
- Enter the sim coordinates at the bottom of the screen underneath the region field area, and then click teleport!

Do you know the name of the region? If you type in the name of the region the map will adjust to show that place.

If you have the region name, enter it into the search window and click on search. Then the coordinates can be entered below the results window. That should activate your teleport button.

How new are you?

If you haven't yet left Help Island, you can't teleport anywhere without a landmark or without being given a teleport offer from someone in world.

If that's the case, look for a landmark giver with a big EXIT sign floating over it.

my search box on the map thing does not work right I entered the name in where it said search on the map menu and put in coordinates but it still said none found on a place I just used the search in the top right corner of the whole viewer to find isn't there a simple non programmer way to do this I am thinking of leaving second life till they come out with a working viewer because of this crap

because the only little island I can get while it has lots of free stuff in the shops is not populated by anymore than 3 people including me at any one time

please help somebody I have tried googling and everything and nothing works

Hey Don, the specific answer to your question is after you type in the region and all 3 coordinate numbers, leave the cursor blinking in the last coordinate box and hit enter. Clicking teleport only seems to work for me when you already have the destination showing on the map.

enter the sim name..then if you know the place double click on the map and you will tp there..
