Is it possible to buy lindens with a AMEX or mastercard prepaid giftcards? It appears as a credit card (digits) but im not sure if they work online.
A friend told me AMEX works but you need a paypal account
I just turned 18 and really don't have a knowledge of credit cards/debit ect but im probably going to look into one soon.

I posted a link to the Knowledge Base that has a tiny bit of info on Amex on your other thread. I know a lot of people use prepaid MasterCard and Visa.

you can with visa and mastercard gift cards but not with amex. I regularly use the visa or mastercard ones, tried amex once and it will not work. Amex does not allow recurring billing on the cards and both the lindex and SLX use paypal which is recurring billing.
